The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Athletics Department is excited to announce the addition of Jackson Kelsheimer as the men's basketball assistant coach.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to join the CGTC community," said Kelsheimer. "This program has leadership, facilities, and support to compete for NJCAA championships year in and year out. I am looking forward to working with Coach Gerald Fitch as we prepare for the upcoming season. He has become a tremendous mentor to me, and someone who has helped me grow and mature as a coach and leader each day."

"Coach Kelsheimer is coming to us from a winning program where he won two conference titles and went to five-straight NCAA tournaments," said Gerald Fitch, Assistant Director of Athletics and Men's Basketball Head Coach at CGTC. "He has won a state championship in high school, and has mentored multiple players that have gone on to play professional basketball. He is an extremely hard worker and we are excited and honored to have him onboard with our program."

Kelsheimer began his collegiate basketball career at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio. As a co-captain, he helped the team earn their first Mountain East Conference Tournament title and NCAA Division II Tournament appearance in program history.

Following a three-year stay at Notre Dame College, Kelsheimer transferred to conference rival Fairmont State University. In his senior season in 2021, Kelsheimer claimed his second Mountain East Conference Tournament title, making him one of two players in conference history to win an MEC Championship at two different schools.

Between 2019 and 2023, Kelsheimer was part of five-straight NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances as a player and graduate assistant. He served as a graduate assistant with the Fairmont State men's basketball program for two years.

Led by his passion for basketball, Kelsheimer has worked several summer youth basketball camps and coached two high school AAU teams for Argento Basketball Club in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 2021, he served as a Summer Management Intern at the National Basketball Academy in Cleveland, which involved running camps, managing tournaments, and working out both youth, college, and professional basketball players.

Kelsheimer graduated from Fairmont State with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, with minors in History and Political Science.

In 2023, Kelsheimer graduated with a Master’s degree in High School Education.
