Following his tenure as the men's basketball assistant coach during the 2021-2022 season, Coach Fitch is eager to take the helm of the program.

"I am honored for the opportunity to start my coaching journey in my hometown," said Fitch. "Over the course of my basketball career, I've gained the knowledge, skills, and experiences that will influence student-athletes to have successful lives on and off the court. I look forward to this wonderful journey with CGTC, our students, and the community."

"We're excited to have Coach Fitch lead our men's basketball program," said Cambri Steadman, CGTC's Director of Athletics and Sports Information. "Coach Fitch is the embodiment of what our student-athletes wish to achieve at the four-year and professional level. We are completely confident in his ability to guide this program to new heights, while continuing the winning tradition."

Fitch, a Macon native, was a basketball standout at Westside High School. After high school, Fitch attended the University of Kentucky where he had a successful collegiate career under the leadership of legendary basketball coach Tubby Smith.

He appeared in 127 games for the Wildcats and scored 1,391 career-points, which ranks 24th best in Kentucky scoring history. Fitch made 199 three-pointers in his career, fourth best in program history. He also ranks in the top-three of rebounding guards in Kentucky history.

After leaving Kentucky, Fitch played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 2005-2006. He helped the Miami Heat on their quest to win the 2006 NBA Championship prior to being traded to the Houston Rockets before the end of the season.

Fitch played professional basketball overseas from 2006-2019. He assisted in four championships and two runner-up titles.

Following his professional career, Fitch served as a graduate assistant with the Mercer University men's basketball program for two years.
