Macon, Ga. – Determined to maintain their footing in the GCAA rankings, the Titans (18-5, 8-5) had an impressive showing in their 64-59 victory over Albany Technical College on Saturday.

Getting off to a fast start, the Titans laid the framework for their offense with back-to-back three-point baskets by DeJon Waters Jr. and Ijon Owens. With some slight changes to player personnel, the Titans were able to exert a balanced attack on the offensive end to keep Albany Tech on their toes defensively.

Trailing for much of the second half, the momentum shifted for the Titans in the final seconds of the game. With the clock stopped at 29 seconds, Champ Dawson knocked down a pair of free throws, giving the Titans a 62-59 lead. At the nine second mark, and possession belonging to Albany Tech, Anyeuri Castillo came up with a big blocked shot and defensive rebound to draw a foul and earn a trip to the free throw line. Making both free throws, Castillo was able to ice the game for the Titans.

Leading the Titans in scoring was DeJon Waters Jr. with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Contributing 11 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and one steal, Anyeuri Castillo pulled in his ninth double-double of the season. Coming off the bench for the Titans, 6'7" freshman Taija Blaylock added a different dimension for the Titans on both ends of the court. In 27 minutes of play, Blaylock tallied his first career double-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, and three steals.

The Titans will play on the road at Gordon State College on Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m.
