Titans Edge Out South Georgia State College

Terrell Howard scoring over multiple defenders in the paint

Macon, Ga. – The Central Georgia Technical College Titans defeated South Georgia Technical College in a narrow 59-57 win Wednesday evening. With the victory, the Titans moved to 17-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play.

Off to a slow start, the Titans only scored two points within the first six minutes of the game. After finding their bearings, the Titans were able to steady the score following the strong inside play of sophomore Anyeuri Castillo. In just the first half, Castillo recorded 13 points and four rebounds. He finished the game with 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block.

In the second half, the Titans were boosted by the sharp three-point shooting from sophomores Terrell Howard and Evins Desir. As the only other double-digit scorer, Howard finished the contest with 10 points, one rebound, two assists, and one steal. Although plagued by late-game turnovers, the Titans were able to stave off a last-second comeback by South Georgia State.

The Titans will take home court again on Saturday, February 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Titans Arena in Macon, when they face Albany Technical College in the final game of a home-and-home series.
