Titans Men’s Soccer Earns First Draw Against Andrew College

Warner Robins, Ga. – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) men’s soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Andrew College in a non-conference game over the weekend.

Andrew College took an early lead with a bicycle kick goal in the first 10 minutes. The Titans responded with two first-half goals to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

Forward, Efrain Móreles (No. 17), scored his first goal of the season with a volley into an empty net in the 17th minute, assisted by forward, Luis Lopez (No.7). Lopez later netted his first goal of the season in the 24th minute after centerback, Osbel Vasquez (No. 5) stole the ball in midfield and played it ahead for an assist.

In the second half, Andrew College was awarded a penalty kick and scored to tie the game. The Titans kept pressure with several second half shots on goal but could not get a game winner past Andrew.

“We have to be composed and finish games strong,” Titans captain and centerback, Angel Cervantes said. “We got a result, but the game was there for us to win if we stayed composed.”

Cervantes added that he's hopeful the youthful Titans will learn from some early season mistakes and grow ahead of conference games later this month.

The Titans will travel to Denmark, South Carolina, on Tuesday, Sept. 4, to face Denmark Technical College in their next non-conference matchup.
