Titans Fall to Southern Crescent in Close Loss

Macon, GA – Trying to extend their win streak, the CGTC Titans (8-6, 4-6) suffered a tough 56-51 loss to Southern Crescent Technical College (7-5, 4-5) on Thursday.

Unable to take the lid off the rim, the Titans found themselves down 16-2 midway through the first half.  While the Titans were able to string together a few offensive spurts, the team never recouped from the early double-digit deficit.

Trailing Southern Crescent Tech by as little as three points down the stretch, missed baskets on ill-advised shots by the Titans sunk the team's chances of getting the victory.

The Titans shot 21-of-55 (38.2%) from the field and 3-of-12 (25%) from long range.

Sophomore Truitt Spencer led the Titans in scoring with 14 points and added one rebound, one steal, and one block. Isaiah Scott also finished with 10 points, in addition to five rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

The Titans will be on the road at Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
