Almamy Drame with a dunk over East Georgia State defenders

 

Macon, GA -  The CGTC Titans (8-5, 4-5) swept East Georgia State College (4-11, 1-9) 74-58 in the season series Tuesday Night.

Off to a rocky start, the Titans were able to right their course midway through the first half by balancing their paint points, mid-range game, and deep shooting.

Shooting 15-of-25 (60%) from the field and 5-of-9 (55.6%) from beyond the 3-point arc, the Titans owned a 38-31 lead at halftime.

With their offense stalled early in the second half, the Titans' saw their lead diminish to three points. Sparked by a dunk from freshman Almamy Drame, the Titans went on a scoring tear and never looked back.

Sophomore guard Montavious Terrell scored a game-high 18 points off 7-of-10 (70%) shooting from field and 3-of-5 (60%) shooting from 3-point range. Terrell also tallied three rebounds and four assists.

Also scoring double-digits for the Titans were Truitt Spencer and Jalyn Hickman. Shooting a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line, Spencer finished with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

With a full stat line, Hickman raked in 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block.

The paint play on both ends of the court was key for the Titans in their victory. While team outrebound East Georgia State 38-26, the Titans also claimed 32 of their total points down low.

The Titans will host Southern Crescent Technical College on Thursday, March 4 at Titans Arena in Macon. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
