Macon, GA – Ending their four-game conference losing streak, the CGTC Titans (5-4, 1-4) gave Albany Technical College (6-1, 5-1) their first loss of the season in a thrilling 75-73 overtime victory.

With a shake up in the starting five, the Titans presented a slightly different game plan against Albany Tech than in their previous contest. Attacking the basket and earning trips to the free throw line, the Titans took a 21-10 lead, their largest of the game, at the 8:31 mark in the first half.

Finding their own offensive rhythm, Albany Tech staged a 22-10 run to take a 32-31 lead at halftime.

Off to a slow start to begin the second half, the Titans received a much-needed spark from freshman Errol White. Solid on both ends of the court, White recorded his first career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while adding two assists and one steal. With an extremely efficient game, White shot 5 of 8 (62.5%) from the field, 1 of 1 (100%) from behind the arc, and 6 of 6 (100%) from the charity stripe.

Following multiple lead changes down the stretch, sophomore guard Truitt Spencer drained a game-tying 3-point basket with 1:33 remaining in regulation.

With :23 left on the clock and Albany Tech inbounding the ball, the Titans were faced with an ominous case of déjà vu from Tuesday's nail-biting road loss in Albany. This time, the team was able to get a big defensive stop to send the game into overtime.

Down 72-70, Errol White knocked down his lone 3-point basket to give the Titans a one point lead. Unfortunately, Albany Tech tied the game once again with a made free throw.

Struggling from the field for much of the game, sophomore Montavious Terrell was clutch for the Titans as he scored the game-winning layup with :10 remaining in overtime. Terrell also raked in a steal to close the game, as Albany Tech tried for a last-second attempt to score.

Bench scoring was a major contributing factor in the Titans' win, with the reserves tallying 46 of the team's 75 total points.

Also scoring double figures for the Titans were Truitt Spencer and Shalom Osaba. Spencer finished with 13 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Osaba scored 11 points with six rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

The Titans will take the court again on Tuesday, February 23 at home in Macon when they host Gordon State College. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
