Macon, GA – After a postponed game this past weekend, the Titans were able to face conference foe South Georgia State College (9-0, 3-0) Tuesday night. Unfortunately, the Titans (4-3, 0-3) found themselves on the wrong side of a 65-69 final score.

Plagued by turnovers and missed shots, the Titans struggled to contain pivotal runs by South Georgia State. After cutting into the Hawks' lead before the half, the Titans allowed South Georgia State to start the second half on a 10-2 run.

Determined to not go down without a fight, the Titans went on their own 20-9 run with 8:44 remaining in the game to take their first and only lead at 50-49.

Down 65-63 with seven seconds left on the clock, the Titans committed a costly turnover that sealed the victory for South Georgia State.

Struggling to find the bottom of the net, the Titans shot 19 of 53 from the field (35.8%) and

7 of 26 (26.9%) from 3-point range. The team committed 21 turnovers, which South Georgia State was able to convert into 19 points.

A bright spot in the Titans' loss was the offensive efficiency of sophomore Montavious Terrell. Terrell shot 6 of 11 (54.5%) from the field, 5 of 7 (71.4%) from the charity stripe, and 2 of 5 (40%) from behind the 3-point arc. Keeping the game close for the Titans for much of the contest, Terrell finished with a game-high 19 points, and added five rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.

Other double-digit scorers for the Titans were Jalyn Hickman with 12 points and one rebound, and Truitt Spencer with 10 points, five rebounds, two steals, and one block.

The Titans are on the road at Albany Technical College on Thursday, February 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
