Titans Fall in Conference Opener at Home

Dominic Pierce splitting defenders on the drive

Macon, GA - The CGTC Titans began the regular season with a 74-60 loss against the South Georgia Technical College Jets Tuesday night.

Off to a slow start, the Titans found themselves in a 9-3 deficit at the 17:43 mark of the first half. Playing big in the paint and earning trips to the free throw line, the Titans were able to cut South Georgia Tech's lead to one.

CGTC's offensive spurt was short-lived, as South Georgia Tech went on a 15-7 run and never looked back.

Not able to gain their poise on the offensive end, the Titans failed to surmount South Georgia Tech's lead in the second half. CGTC shot 21 of 58 (36.2%) from the field and 2 of 18 (11.1%) from behind the 3-point line.

Sophomore Dominic Pierce scored a team-high 11 points and added five rebounds, one assist, and two blocks. Almamy Drame, Mark Vance, Jr., and Errol White each scored 9 points.

The Titans will face South Georgia Tech again on Thursday, February 11 when they travel to Americus. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
