WARNER ROBINS, GA – Middle linebacker Anton Evans, a standout member of the Central
Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Titans football team, committed in December to continue his
academic and athletic career at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Evans, who helped lead the Titans to an impressive 10-1 record during the program's inaugural
NJCAA Division I football season, earned recognition as the CGTC Football Scholastic Player of the
Year. The honor follows his achievement of a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester.
On the field, Evans delivered an exceptional performance throughout the season, compiling nine
sacks, one interception returned for a touchdown, three fumble recoveries, two for touchdowns,
one punt block returned for a touchdown, and seven tackles for loss.
Morehouse College, a member of the NCAA Division II, will provide the next stage for Evans as he
continues his journey as a student-athlete.
"Anton has been a model student-athlete for the program, and we are excited to see what he
can do at the next level," said Titans Head Coach, Kato Hitson. "We hope his continued example
becomes the standard for what people associate with the Titans program."
The Titans Football program prides itself on creating opportunities for athletes to grow and
pursue their next academic and athletic goals. The program expects news of more athletes
committing over the winter.
"Anton embodies the spirit of excellence both on and off the field," said Cathy Johnson,
Executive Director for Athletics and Compliance. "His success highlights the commitment of our
student-athletes to achieving greatness in all areas of life. We are incredibly proud of him and
look forward to following his journey at Morehouse College.
The Athletics Department congratulates Evans on his achievements and wishes him continued
success in his academic and athletic pursuits.
