The Central Georgia Technical College Athletics Department is excited to announce the addition of John Gordon as the Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach.

Coach Gordon previously served as an instructor in the CGTC Adult Education Department, and also served as a Co-Defensive Lineman Coach on the 2023 NFCA National Champion CGTC club football team. Prior to arriving at CGTC, Coach Gordon served as the varsity boys basketball Head Coach at Peach County High School in Fort Valley, Georgia from 2019- 2023. During his tenure as coach, he led his team to a region championship and qualified for the GHSA state playoffs every season. Gordon also served as the varsity boys basketball Head Coach at Westside High School in Augusta, Georgia from 2017-2019. In 2009, Gordon coached his 11U travel basketball team, Perry Raiders, to a Youth Basketball of America (YBOA) State and National Championship. Gordon coached AAU/travel basketball for over 20 years prior to coaching high school basketball.

Coach Gordon, a military brat, was born in Fort Bragg, NC but spent the latter part of his school years in Savannah, GA where he played basketball and graduated from Alfred Ely Beach High School. After high school, Mr. Gordon attended and graduated from Fort Valley State University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. While at Fort Valley State, Gordon also become a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.

Coach Gordon and his wife (Lakeitha) currently reside in Houston County, and have five adult children: Trey, Khamron, Ariel, Rickey II, and Kennedy.
