
CGTC Student-Athletes Honored on 23-24 NJCAA All-Academic Teams
Macon, Ga. – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced the 2023-24 All-Academic Teams, recognizing student-athletes across the country for their dedication in the classroom, and 6 student athletes from Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) made the list.
Titans men’s basketball player, Caleb Senyo, achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA and was named to the NJCAA All-Academic First Team.
Christian Torres and Keon Griffin from the men’s basketball team, and Eihlan Fitch from the women’s basketball team, were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team for achieving GPAs between 3.80 and 3.99.
Nelson Johnson Jr. from the men’s basketball team and Haley Johnson from the women’s basketball team were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team for their GPAs between 3.60 and 3.79.
Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2023-24 academic year. The criteria for the three All-Academic teams are listed below:

NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA

NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA

NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
This year, 3,424 student-athletes garnered NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors after achieving a 4.0 GPA. 4,013 student-athletes were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team, while 4,808 student-athletes received third-team recognition. The nationwide teams include 12,245 student-athletes have been honored for achieving a GPA above 3.60.
Cathy Johnson, the executive director for Athletics and Compliance, spoke on these student athletes and their accomplishments.
