Lady Titans Cruise Past Andrew College

Victoria Dumas(25) shooting over Andrew College defenders

With a decisive 75-62 victory over the Andrew College Lady Tigers, the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Lady Titans (9-12, 8-3) notched their third-straight conference win Wednesday night.

With six players scoring double-digits, the Lady Titans displayed a balanced offensive attack. Sophomore Victoria Brown led the Lady Titans in scoring with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.  With an impressive 10-of-11 night from the free throw line, Fredricka Sheats finished with 14 points, six rebounds, and one steal. Freshman Laurie Thomas raked in her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Freshmen Ayana Collins and Sha'Terra Ferrell tallied 11 points, with Collins adding six rebounds, and one steal. Victoria Dumas rounded out the two-column scorers with 10 points, all of which came in the first half.

With a close score for much of the first half of the game, the Lady Titans took control in the third quarter, seeing their largest lead at 52-37. Stretching the floor on fast breaks and dominating the boards, the Lady Titans proved too much for Andrew College.

The Lady Titans return to action at home in Macon on Saturday, January 26 when they host conference foe Georgia Highlands College in their second match-up of the season. Tip-off is at 1:00 p.m.
