Byron Mincey was named the assistant coach for men’s basketball in September 2015.

Mincey joined Central Georgia Technical College after spending four years with the men’s basketball program at the College of Coastal Georgia (CCG).

Coach Mincey’s career at CCG began as a student manager prior to his transition to the role of student assistant coach. During his tenure, Mincey was responsible for multiple facets of the men’s basketball program, including sports information, basketball operations, equipment management, and team scouting.

Under former head coach Gerald Cox and current coach Jesse Watkins, Mincey helped coach two 1,000 point scorers in Kentorey Johnson and Reggie Burke.

Coach Mincey helped lead the Titans to GCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship titles in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

A graduate of the College of Coastal Georgia, Mincey holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs, with a concentration in Public Management. Coach Mincey currently resides in Macon.
