CGTC Titans Head Back to National Tournament

2019 NJCAA First Round Bracket

Macon, GA – Winning the 2019 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) championship, the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Titans (24-7) were able to secure an automatic bid to the 72nd National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) Division I Men's Basketball tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas, March 18-23, 2019.

During the NJCAA selection show on Monday, the 24-team bracket was revealed and the No. 21 seeded CGTC Titans learned that their first opponent in the national tournament will be No. 12 Indian Hills Community College (Ottumwa, Iowa). The Titans will play on Monday, March 18 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

With a 26-6 overall record during the 2018-2019 season, the Indian Hills Warriors received an at-large bid to the tournament after losing 95-74 in the Region XI championship game against Southeastern Community College. The trip to Hutch will be the sixth-consecutive appearance for Indian Hills.

Having the experience of playing in the tournament last year, head coach Reco Dawson will rely on the leadership of returning sophomores Anyeuri Castillo, Evins Desir, Juvante Hayes, and DeJon Waters Jr. to guide the Titans' newcomers.
